Nenad Popović: Serbia and Azerbaijan can expand into third-country markets with IT projects - EXCLUSIVE

Serbia and Azerbaijan have the potential to expand cooperation in the IT sector, including by entering third-country markets, Serbia's Minister for International Economic Cooperation, Nenad Popović, told Report on the sidelines of the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum.

According to him, political relations between Serbia and Azerbaijan are at a very high level, while the close and friendly ties between the two countries' leaders provide a solid foundation for further economic cooperation.

"We need more meetings between our business communities and as many business forums as possible. We see particular potential in the development of new technologies, digitalization, the IT sector, and everything related to artificial intelligence and robotics," he said.

Popović noted that dozens of Serbian companies are interested in launching joint projects with Azerbaijani partners, not only within the framework of bilateral cooperation but also to enter third-country markets by combining their efforts.

"I especially see this collaboration in the IT sector, where there is enormous potential," he added.

He also expressed hope that a new business forum could soon be held in either Belgrade or Baku to create a platform for more active engagement between businesses.

"I believe in the role of small and medium-sized enterprises in our cooperation and am confident that our trade turnover will continue to grow every year," Popović said.
