Mikhail Yevdokimov: Russia, Azerbaijan conduct transactions in national currencies

Economic cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan is highly effective, stated Russia's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mikhail Evdokimov, during the business panel "Investments in the Caspian Region," Report informs.

"To a large extent, this is an achievement of Russian and Azerbaijani banking institutions: our countries conduct settlements in national currencies - rubles and manats. I personally carried out a check. After transferring manats from Baku, just an hour and a half later I received a notification from a Russian bank that rubles had been credited to my account.

At the diplomatic mission, we also use the ruble-manat pair and do not encounter any difficulties in matters of financing. Russian entrepreneurs operating in Azerbaijan also emphasize that settlements in national currencies are quite convenient," the diplomat stressed.
