IsDB: One of the world's largest landscape restoration programs to be implemented in the Middle East

One of the world's largest landscape restoration programs is planned to be implemented in the Middle East, involving the planting of 50 billion trees, Bradley Hiller, Lead Climate Change Specialist at the Sustainability and Climate Action Department of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), on the sidelines of WUF13 in Baku.

Report quotes him as saying several initiatives are being implemented in the region that can contribute to advancing nature-based solutions.

"One of them is the Middle East Green Initiative, which aims to plant 50 billion trees and foresees the mobilization of significant blended finance in the region. It is planned that this will become one of the largest landscape restoration programs in the world," Bradley Hiller noted.
