IMF predicts increase in Azerbaijan's public debt

The ratio of Azerbaijan's public debt to gross domestic product (GDP) will be 28.9% in 2021-2022, Report informs, citing the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
According to the IMF, last year, this figure was 21.4%.
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Finance earlier said that as of July 1, 2021, the total amount of public debt (foreign and domestic) amounted to AZN 17.352 billion or 21.6% of GDP. The foreign public debt accounted for over AZN 14.625 billion or 84.3% of the total public debt, while the domestic public debt amounted to over AZN 2.726 billion or 15.7%.
