Gold price surpasses $4,700 for first time since May

The price of a gold futures contract for October delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange (COMEX) rose above $4,700 per troy ounce.
According to the trading data, cited by Report, the precious metal last traded at such a high level in May 2026.
As of 06:10 Baku time, gold prices were up 0.55%, reaching $4,706.4 per troy ounce.
By 06:30, the futures contract's growth rate had increased, with the price reaching $4,713.8 per troy ounce, representing a 0.77% gain.
