Future of tech is being shaped today in Baku – CBA governer

The future of technology is being born today in Baku, as the city is hosting the 49th ICPC World Finals, uniting top students and leading experts from dozens of countries, Taleh Kazimov, Governor of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), said at the opening ceremony of the 49th International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), Report informs.

Kazimov noted that representatives from over 100 universities have gathered in Azerbaijan's capital for the event.

"ICT is a space where new ideas emerge, but more importantly, where the future of technology is being shaped. For our region, this is especially significant - the younger generation, by developing new opportunities, gains great hope for the future," Kazimov said.

He emphasized the importance of fields such as supervision, knowledge, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity for the future of humanity.

"These areas are directly linked to the financial stability of our sector and economy, to the expansion of the financial community, and of course, to the protection of participants' rights. Personally, the ICPC being held in Azerbaijan means a lot to me. Back in 1999, I earned my first payment for developing a software program for a small warehouse - part of a small supermarket chain," the CBA chief added.
