Regional financial flows in Central Asia have increased by nearly 50% over the past two years, demonstrating deepening economic integration and growing investment activity in the region, Farid Mammadov, CEO of PASHA Financial Holding, said at a panel session during the annual meeting of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB) in Baku, Report informs.
He noted that co-lending schemes, where international financial institutions engage local banks in projects through guarantees and risk insurance mechanisms, can be effectively used to finance large regional projects.
Mammadov noted that such instruments can stimulate the participation of national financial institutions in projects to develop the Middle Corridor and green energy corridors.
The head of PASHA Financial Holding also emphasized the importance of measures to develop long-term capital sources, implemented by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan through the development of capital markets and the insurance sector.
He stated that the creation of such resources will expand financing for both national and cross-border infrastructure projects.
