Expert: Compliance has become strategic factor for Azerbaijan and Central Asia

Compliance has already turned into a strategic development and investment-attraction factor for Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries, Dauren Akshalov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Association of Compliance and Business Ethics of Kazakhstan, said at the 10th International Financial and Banking Summit in Baku.

Report quotes him as saying in today's conditions, the compliance system is not only a tool of control and supervision, but also a key element of trust, transparency, and investment attractiveness.

"In the context of digital transformation, the development of financial technologies, and the growth of international investments in the region, including Azerbaijan, the importance of compliance systems continues to increase. Today, international investors assess not only financial indicators. Transparency of companies and state structures, the quality of risk management, and the presence of effective compliance mechanisms have also become important criteria," Akshalov noted.

He emphasized that the deeper integration of Azerbaijan and other countries in the region into the international financial system makes the implementation of modern compliance standards even more relevant.
