Education and innovation key to Azerbaijan's sustainable development – ADA rector

Investing in education and supporting business initiatives are among the most effective ways to ensure sustainable development and prosperity in Azerbaijan, Rector of ADA University Hafiz Pashayev said at the opening ceremony of the 49th International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) World Finals, held in Baku, Report informs.

Pashayev noted that Azerbaijan regularly hosts high-level international events, and the ICPC World Finals hold special significance as a competition featuring top university students from around the globe.

"This contest demands exceptional skills and knowledge in mathematics, engineering, and logic. It also requires teamwork, critical thinking, and the ability to quickly develop innovative solutions," Pashayev emphasized.

The rector highlighted Azerbaijan's proactive steps toward technological advancement.

"The development of a new innovative IT ecosystem will increasingly shape the country's position and role in global business rankings. Hosting the ICPC World Finals in Baku is a crucial step in this direction. We believe this event will mark a turning point in promoting IT development in Azerbaijan and will attract global attention to our country," he added.
