Dollar share in SOFAZ's investment portfolio approaches 70%

The investment portfolio value of the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) reached $72.595 billion as of July 1, 2026, Report informs, citing the Fund.

This represents an increase of $6.079 billion, or 9.1%, compared to July 1 of last year, according to SOFAZ.

Currently, 69.7% ($50.566 billion) of SOFAZ's investments are denominated in US dollars, which is 3.2 percentage points higher than the figure recorded a year earlier.

In turn, the share of the euro in the investment portfolio decreased by 3.2 percentage points to 17.7% ($11.279 billion).

During the reporting period, the share of the British pound sterling in the investment portfolio dropped by 0.2 percentage points to 4.9% ($2.69 billion), the Chinese yuan decreased by 0.1 percentage points to 2.3% ($11.57 billion), the Japanese yen rose by 0.1 percentage points to 1.5% ($174.308 million), and the share of other foreign currencies grew by 0.2 percentage points to 3.9% (equivalent to $2.844 billion).
