The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank is steadily increasing its investments in cross-border energy infrastructure, according to Sherard Cowper-Coles, Vice President of the bank, cited by Report.
Speaking at a panel discussion during the annual meeting of the Islamic Development Bank Group in Baku, Sherard Cowper-Coles said AIIB is implementing major projects across Central and Southeast Asia.
"We exchange ideas, people, and goods, and we must also ensure the exchange of energy. We are all interconnected, and energy connectivity is of paramount importance. The issue is not limited to electricity generation; it also includes its optimal distribution across borders and regions for the benefit of all humanity," he said.
Cowper-Coles emphasized that strengthening cross-border energy links is essential for improving regional integration and ensuring more efficient use of energy resources.
