Central Bank of Azerbaijan encourages prepared issuers to enter capital market

The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) is keen on seeing well-prepared issuers enter the capital market, Asaf Mammadov, Head of the Securities Registration Department of the CBA, said at the 12th International Caspian Investment Forum in Baku.

Report quotes Mammadov as saying the regulator wants to ensure the quality of issuers entering the market. "For instance, a positive decision by the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) but a refusal from the CBA to approve the issuance could result in wasted time and financial resources for both issuers and the exchange. Additionally, such information reaching the market could negatively affect the reputation of the BSE," he noted.

In 2024, the CBA registered a record number of securities issuance prospectuses, with 65 approved.
