Central Bank of Azerbaijan discusses capital market digitalization

The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has discussed ways to increase digitalization in the country's capital market, Report informs, citing the CBA.

The bank's Deputy Chairman Ali Ahmadov held a meeting with the heads of the Azerbaijan Capital Markets Association (ACMA), Baku Stock Exchange CJSC (BSE), National Depository Center (NDC) and investment companies operating in Azerbaijan.

The meeting addressed the development dynamics of capital markets in the second quarter of this year, the performance of investment companies, as well as key trends and prospects observed in the sector.

The participants also reviewed work carried out this year to develop the capital market within the framework of the "Financial Sector Development Strategy for 2024-2026."

The meeting also included an exchange of views on key challenges facing the capital market, including encouraging greater participation by representatives of the real sector, increasing the level of digitalization in the sector and initiatives aimed at improving financial literacy.
