CBA: Cash foreign currency purchases exceeded sales by $482M in 1H26

In January–June 2026, cash foreign currency purchases in Azerbaijan exceeded sales by $482 million, Report informs, citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the data, this trend was observed in both cash and non-cash segments.
Additionally, the dollarization level of resident individuals' deposits decreased by 3.8 percentage points over the past 12 months, falling to 25.6% in May.
In conditions where demand in the currency market sharply declined and supply significantly increased, the CBA carried out purchase-side interventions. During the reporting period, the institution's foreign exchange reserves grew by $2.2 billion (19.5%), reaching $13.8 billion.
