CBA: Capital of Azerbaijan's insurance sector twice the regulatory requirement

The combined capital of Azerbaijan's insurance sector is twice the level required by the regulator, Aliyar Mammadyarov said at the 11th Azerbaijan International Insurance Forum in Baku.

Report quotes Mammadyarov as saying insurance premiums increased by 23% over the past two years (2024–2025), reaching 1.5 billion manats, while insurance payouts rose by 57% to 0.9 billion manats.

"Sector assets grew by 18% to 2.1 billion manats. The sector's capitalization has strengthened significantly, with total capital exceeding the regulatory capital requirement by two times. These indicators demonstrate that the insurance sector is on a path of healthy development and that financial stability has been further reinforced," he said.
