Baku. 19 July. REPORT.AZ/ The Bank of England (BoE) has unveiled £10 note featuring author Jane Austen.
Report informs that the note is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the author's death. Notably, Jane Austen is the author of the famous Pride and Prejudice novel.
The note is printed on polymer and is the first Bank of England banknote with a tactile feature to help blind and partially sighted users. As it is made of polymer, the new £10 note is cleaner, safer and stronger. The new £10 note will be issued on September 14, 2017.
Notably, earlier, the BOE has issued £5 note made of polymer and featuring Winston Churchill. In 2020, it is planned to issue £20 note featuring artist J.M.W Turner.
