Azerbaijan, Türkiye discuss banking sector cooperation

Zakir Nuriyev, president of the Azerbaijan Banks Association (ABA), and Yunus Abdulov, its executive director, have attended the Annual Meeting of the Banks Association of Türkiye.
Report informs, citing the ABA, that current issues related to the economy and the banking sector were discussed at the meeting. The participants exchanged views on development trends in the financial sector, existing challenges and opportunities for mutual cooperation.
The event featured speeches by Alpaslan Çakar, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Banks Association of Türkiye; Şahap Kavcıoğlu, chairman of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency; Fatih Karahan, governor of the Central Bank of Türkiye; and Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek.
Discussions at the meeting focused on the sustainable development of the banking sector, the impact of economic processes on financial markets, the regulatory environment and priority issues facing the sector.
The ABA continues its activities aimed at expanding cooperation with international partners, studying best practices and promoting mutual exchange of experience in the banking sector.
