Azerbaijan's insurance market shrinks by over 1%

In January–February 2026, approximately 277.6 million manats (about $163.3 million) in insurance premiums were collected through 16 insurance companies in Azerbaijan, marking a 1.3% decrease year-on-year, Report informs, citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
During this period, insurance companies made payments amounting to 148.8 million manats (just over $87.5 million), which is 37% higher compared to the corresponding period in 2025.
In two months, for every 100 manats ($58.82) of insurance premiums collected, 53.6 manats ($31.53) were paid out in claims. In the same period last year, this figure stood at 38.6 manats ($22.71).
