Azerbaijan's insurance market grew nearly 2% in five months

In January–May 2026, Azerbaijan's 16 insurance companies collected over 732.6 million manats (approximately $431 million) in premiums, marking a 1.85% increase year-on-year, Report informs, citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
During the reporting period, insurance companies paid out 409.636 million manats (nearly $241 million) in claims – a sharp 30.1% rise year-on-year.
For every 100 manats ($58.82) in premiums collected over five months, 55.9 manats ($32.88) were paid out in claims. A year earlier, this figure stood at 43.8 manats ($25.76).
