Azerbaijan's budget deficit totals 208M manats in 1Q2026

In the first quarter of 2026, Azerbaijan's consolidated budget revenues exceeded 8.85 billion manats (just over $5.2 billion), while expenditures reached 9.06 billion manats (approximately $5.33 billion), Report informs, citing the country's Ministry of Finance.

As a result, the consolidated budget recorded a deficit of 208 million manats (over $122.3 million).

The State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population collected revenues of just over 2.13 billion manats (just under $1.254 billion) and spent 2.05 billion manats (just over $1.207 billion). The Unemployment Insurance Fund received revenues of 58.9 million manats (over $34.6 million) and expenditures of 38.4 million manats (approximately $22.6 million). The Mandatory Health Insurance Fund had revenues of 569.3 million manats (nearly $335 million) and expenditures of 454.6 million manats (just over $267.4 million).

Meanwhile, the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) generated revenues of 1.01 billion manats (almost $592.9 million) but recorded expenditures of 3.22 billion manats (nearly $1.9 billion). The budget of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic reported revenues of 104.4 million manats (just over $61.4 million) and expenditures of 98.8 million manats (just over $58.1 million).
