Azerbaijan receives 250,500 manats in taxes from social media platforms

Azerbaijan assessed 250,500 manats ($147,352) in taxes through desk audits of social networks and foreign digital platforms in 2025, says the annual report on the previous year's activities of the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy.

According to the report, the amount of VAT calculated by non-residents last year reached 15.5 million manats ($9.1 million). Information was exchanged with 150 partner countries in this regard.

The amount of information received from foreign countries regarding financial accounts opened abroad by Azerbaijani residents increased by 17% compared with the previous year.

Within the framework of information exchange based on requests, 40 international requests were sent and 32 were received.

An additional 239,600 manats ($140,941) in tax assessments was made based on information received through international information exchange.
