Azerbaijan focuses on attracting foreign investment for economic diversification, CBA governor says

Azerbaijan is focused on attracting foreign investment to diversify its economy, Governor of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) Taleh Kazimov said at the Second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2026) in Baku, Report informs.

According to him, thanks to comprehensive reforms, the country's economy is demonstrating resilience.

"According to our July forecast, non-oil GDP growth will reach 3.4% by the end of 2026, and the current account surplus will stand at $6.1 billion. Inflation has stabilized within the target range and is expected to remain within these bounds over the medium term. However, individual resilience alone is no longer enough to withstand systemic global instability. Long-term sustainable growth increasingly depends on strong international partnerships," Kazimov noted.

According to him, Azerbaijan's priority is mobilizing international capital to finance infrastructure, industrial development, and regional integration.

The CBA governor emphasized that Azerbaijan today serves as a transport and logistics hub along the Middle Corridor.
