Azerbaijan discussing new projects with BSTDB with large funding portfolio

Azerbaijan is discussing new projects with the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) with a large financing portfolio, Finance Minister Sahil Babayev said at a business forum during the 28th annual meeting of the BSTDB Board of Directors, Report informs.

"The bank has already participated in financing various projects in Azerbaijan totaling approximately €500 million. Today, there are more projects under discussion, and their financing portfolio is significantly broader."We see this as an opportunity to create new prospects for both the private sector and state-owned companies," Babayev noted.

He emphasized that economic diversification, private sector development, and integration into regional and global value chains are priorities. Azerbaijan is interested in expanding its partnership with the BSTDB, particularly in supporting small and medium-sized businesses.

The minister also noted the importance of close cooperation between governments, international financial institutions, commercial banks, and businesses to realize new opportunities.
