Azerbaijan unveils inflation rate in January-February

Prices for consumer goods and services in Azerbaijan increased by 2.8 percent in the first two months of 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
The increase covers food, beverage, and tobacco products (4.9 percent), non-food products (1.1 percent), as well as tariffs on paid services rendered to the population (1.4 percent).
In February 2020, compared with the previous month, the cost of consumer goods and services increased by 0.7 percent, while the cost of food, beverages, and tobacco products went up by 1.6 percent. Prices of non-food products and tariffs for paid services rendered to the population grew by only 0.1 percent each. On an annualized basis, the increase was 5.1, 1.1, and 1.4, respectively.
