Azerbaijan-based banks see decline in external borrowing

Baku. 4 February. REPORT.AZ/ As of January 1, 2019, the foreign liabilities of Azerbaijan-based commercial banks stood at AZN 1,828,100,000, down AZN 480.2 million or 20.8% from the previous year, AZN 20.7 million or 1.12% by contrast to a month ago, Report informs citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
As of January 1, 2019, the total foreign assets of the banks amounted to AZN 5,906,300,000, up AZN 32.3 million or 0.55% from the previous year, AZN 916.1 million or 13.43% in comparison to a month earlier.
