Azer Amirov says no risks to stability of Azerbaijani Deposit Insurance Fund

Calculations and analytical data indicate the absence of any risks to the stability of the Azerbaijani Deposit Insurance Fund.

According to a Report correspondent in Shamakhi, Azer Amirov, Director of the Fund's Legal Department, made the remark at a forum on the occasion of National Press Day.

According to him, the Fund strives to manage its own risks in relation to banks, not the banks' risks: "Based on the banks' overall indicators, we assess which banks may face an insured event and prepare various risk scenarios. (...) Consolidation has both positive and negative aspects. In the economy, any regulation in any direction can create certain risks along with positive results."

Amirov believes that risks to the Fund, amid the growing burden on systemically important banks, could only arise in the event of a significant deterioration in the country's economic situation: "Currently, neither the Fund's calculations and analytical research, nor the information received through the Fund's Board of Trustees, indicate the existence of such a risk in the near future."
