Average monthly salary in Azerbaijan increased by nearly 10%

As of August 1, 2025, the number of wage-earning employees in Azerbaijan's economy totaled 1.768 million people, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
Of that number, 858,100 were employed in the public sector, while 910,300 worked in the private sector.
According to the data, the distribution of employees by economic activity was as follows:

18.9% in trade and motor vehicle repair

18.1% in education

13.8% in industry

8.5% in healthcare and social services

6.8% in construction
-
6.3% in public administration and defense; social security

4.2% in transport and storage
-
3.9% in professional, scientific, and technical activities

2.4% in agriculture, forestry, and fishing

2.3% in finance and insurance
-
14.8% in other sectors of the economy
From January to July 2025, the average monthly nominal salary of wage earners in Azerbaijan increased by 9.5% compared to the same period last year, reaching 1,098 manats ($646).
The highest average monthly wages were recorded in mining, finance and insurance, information and communications, professional, scientific and technical activities, and transport and storage sectors.
