The US is committed to expanding its partnership with Azerbaijan to enhance financial transparency and engage in efforts to prevent sanctions evasion, Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Azerbaijan, Amy Carlon, said at a conference on sanctions compliance and financial risk management in Baku, Report informs.
"The US is committed to expanding its partnership with Azerbaijan and other countries in the region in our shared efforts to enhance transparency and financial integrity," she said.
Strengthening cooperation on sanctions compliance is a cornerstone of this engagement, she added.
"We understand that sanctions compliance poses significant challenges to the private sector, from rapidly changing regulatory requirements to increasingly sophisticated sanctions evasion methods. Today's conference will help provide practical tools for navigating these complex [sanctions – ed.] regimes. Together, Azerbaijan and the United States can strengthen compliance and contribute to the creation of a safer and more transparent financial system, which, in turn, will support the implementation of our new strategic partnership," emphasized Carlon.
