Amount of deposits in Azerbaijani banks up by 7%

As of February 1, 2025, the deposit portfolio of Azerbaijani banks amounted to 40.2 billion manats ($23.6 billion).

Report informs, citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), this is 0.2% less than the monthly average and 6.9% more than the same period last year.

Some 54.2% of this, or nearly 21.8 billion manats ($12.8 billion), fell to the share of non-financial organizations, 0.1% more than the annual average.

During the year, household deposits increased by 12.1% to 14.7 billion manats ($8.6 billion), while deposits of financial institutions increased by 36.3% to 3.7 billion manats ($2.2 billion).

Of the total deposits during the reporting period, 23.2 billion manats ($13.6 billion) (2% less year-on-year) were short-term, and 16.9 billion manats ($9.9 billion) (22% less) were long-term.
