Volume of transit oil via BTC increases by nearly 45%

In January-Nowember this year, 34,418,900 tons of oil were transported via Azerbaijan's main oil pipelines, 7.4% more than in the same period last year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
Within ten months, 78.8% of transportation was carried out via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil export pipeline.
During the reporting months, 27,121,000 tons of oil were transported through the BTC, 12.5% more than in the first eleven months of 2021.
During the period, 4,668,900 tons of transit oil were transported via the BTC pipeline, up 45.36% from the previous year.
The BTC pipeline currently carries mainly oil from Azerbaijan from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block and condensate from the Shah Deniz field. In addition, other volumes of crude oil and condensate, including oil from Turkmenistan, Russia, and Kazakhstan, are transported through the BTC.
Shareholders of BTC Co: BP (30.1%); AzBTC (25%); MOL (8.9%); Equinor (8.71%); TPAO (6.53%); Eni (5%); Total (5%), ITOCHU (3.4%); INPEKS (2.5%), ExxonMobil (2.5%) and ONGC (BTC) Limited (2.36%).
