Türkiye plans to invest $28 billion in renewable energy and the "green grid."
Report informs that Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said this at the 31st Baku Energy Forum.
According to him, wind and solar power generation has increased over the past two decades:
"Last March, our total installed capacity exceeded 125 gigawatts and, as previously noted, more than 60% of this comes from renewable energy sources. Our path in wind and solar energy is clear proof of what bold policy can achieve. Over the past two decades, we have increased our installed wind and solar capacity from almost 0 gigawatts to more than 41 gigawatts. These are not just figures on paper. The real impact is clearly reflected in power generation indicators. Last March, our total monthly electricity generation reached nearly 30 terawatt-hours. Two-thirds of this was generated from renewable energy sources."
