The South Caucasus Pipeline transports natural gas produced from the Shah Deniz gas-condensate field in Azerbaijan's sector of the Caspian Sea for export to Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye. The pipeline was commissioned at the end of 2006 to transport gas from the first phase of the Shah Deniz project, while since the summer of 2018, gas from the field's second phase has been delivered to Türkiye through the expanded South Caucasus Pipeline and the TANAP pipeline.
