In 2022-2025, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) supplied around 2.5 million tons of Azerbaijani crude oil to Indonesia.
Report informs that Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said this at the first meeting of energy ministers of D-8 member states.
According to him, cooperation with Bangladesh, particularly in view of its growing energy demand, is considered a promising area in LNG supply and energy infrastructure.
"Negotiations between SOCAR and PetroBangla on LNG supplies have been completed. Malaysia's extensive experience in the energy sector and advanced technological capabilities form an important basis for expanding mutual partnership," he said.
The minister noted that cooperation with Nigeria, which has the largest gas reserves in Africa, opens up significant prospects for strengthening coordination in energy markets and creating new investment opportunities.
"Thus, the D-8 platform, which shares common religious and cultural values and spans three continents, paves the way for expanding cooperation in energy security, energy transition and energy connectivity," he said.
The minister added that more than 1.3 million tons of LNG had been supplied from Azerbaijan to Egypt.
"Azerbaijan's energy dialogue with Egypt has entered a new stage in recent years. Under the three-year LNG supply agreement signed last year between SOCAR Trading and EGPC, more than 1.3 million tons of LNG have been supplied to Egypt. The new agreement, which covers trade in oil, petroleum products and LNG, as well as cooperation in production, exploration, refining and human capital development, has further strengthened our energy partnership," Shahbazov said.
