Azerbaijan's energy policy is fully aligned with the main objectives of the OPEC+ platform, the country's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov stated, Report informs.
Speaking at the Inaugural Technical Committee meeting of the OPEC+ Charter of Cooperation (CoC) in Baku, Shahbazov stressed that OPEC+ is not only a mechanism for regulating oil production but also an important cooperation platform that serves to maintain stability in the global oil market and balance the interests of producer and consumer countries.
"The priorities set within the Charter of Cooperation – strengthening dialogue with major oil-consuming countries, promoting technology, innovation and investment in the oil industry, expanding cooperation on regulatory policies, improving analytical work on the oil market, and developing industry standards – are of particular importance for deepening OPEC+ cooperation," the minister said.
He emphasized that the first meeting of the Technical Committee is a significant step toward the practical implementation of the Charter's objectives.
Shahbazov also pointed out that it will contribute to expanding dialogue among partners, building cooperation on a more systematic basis, and strengthening long-term collaboration within OPEC+: "Throughout history, Baku has acted as a bridge between East and West, producers and consumers, past and future. Today, the city has also become a reliable dialogue platform that brings together traditional energy and the new realities of the energy transition. I believe today's discussions will contribute to the future development of OPEC+ cooperation, as well as to the strengthening of global energy security, mutual trust, and market stability."
