Rovshan Najaf: Azerbaijan to expand gas supply to its partners

Azerbaijan will expand gas supply to partner countries by increasing production, Rovshan Najaf, President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), said at a panel discussion held on the second day of Baku Energy Week, Report informs.

Najaf underscored that Azerbaijan's main priority remains ensuring a sustainable and reliable energy supply to its regional customers and contributing to regional energy security.

"The company's [SOCAR] core philosophy is to guarantee reliable supply, and this approach has not changed and will not change in the future. Compared to last year, the geography of Azerbaijan's gas exports has expanded further. Today, in addition to Europe, Georgia, and Türkiye, Syria is also included in the supply region," he said.

The SOCAR President also pointed out that Azerbaijan has already started supplying gas to the Syrian market: "Our partners are interested in sustainably receiving more gas. Under current conditions, Azerbaijani gas is considered one of the most reliable energy sources in the region."
