Regional partners interested in SOCAR's AI methane monitoring solution

Regional partners have expressed interest in using an AI-based methane monitoring solution developed by Azerbaijan's State Oil Company (SOCAR), Head of SOCAR's Environmental Information Disclosure and Green Initiatives Department Mustafa Gurbanli told a panel discussion at Baku Climate Action Week 2026 (BCAW 2026), Report informs.

Gurbanli said SOCAR had integrated artificial intelligence technologies into its corporate decarbonization program.

"In particular, SOCAR specialists developed proprietary Methane AI software designed to monitor and reduce methane emissions. The Methane AI system allows data to be uploaded to identify emission priorities and forecast potential risks," he said.

"This is our own development, which we have already demonstrated to regional partners. The product has generated significant interest, and we are currently working on its further development and organizing joint use with colleagues from the region," the SOCAR department head added.
