OPEC releases report on gas production, exports and reserves in Azerbaijan

In 2020, Azerbaijan produced 22.408 billion cubic meters of natural gas (7.7% growth since 2019), said the annual statistical bulletin of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

In total, 3.962 billion cubic meters of natural gas was produced worldwide in 2020, which is 3% less than in 2019.

At the same time, in 2020, Azerbaijan saw a 12.4% drop after the previous year, exporting 9.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas to the world market. In general, 1.244 billion cubic meters of natural gas was exported worldwide in 2020 (a 6.6% decline from last year).

In addition, according to OPEC's annual statistical bulletin, by the end of 2020, Azerbaijan's proven gas reserves amounted to 2.2 billion cubic meters. This is 14.8% more than at the end of 2019.

The world has a total of 206.683 billion cubic meters of natural gas reserves, which is 0.4% less than in 2019.
