Nearly 100 bcm of Azerbaijani gas transported via TANAP

Since its commissioning, the Trans‑Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) has transported a total of 99.6 billion cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan's Energy Ministry.

Of the total volume, 39.6 billion cubic meters were exported to Türkiye.

Today marks the eighth anniversary of the start of commercial gas deliveries from Azerbaijan to Türkiye through TANAP under the Shah Deniz‑2 project. As a vital part of the Southern Gas Corridor, TANAP is considered indispensable for ensuring energy security.

The pipeline transports natural gas produced from the Shah Deniz‑2 field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, as well as other sources, to Türkiye and onward to Europe. TANAP, together with the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) and the Trans‑Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), forms the Southern Gas Corridor. Crossing Türkiye, TANAP ends at the Türkiye‑Greece border, where it connects to TAP for delivery to Europe.
