Methanol production down in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan produced 100 tons of methanol (methyl alcohol) in January, a 0.1% decrease from the previous year, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
As of February 1, 2021, stocks of the finished product amounted to 4,200 tons.
Methanol is produced at a plant of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in the Garadagh district.
The methanol plant was commissioned in 2013, transferred under the management of SOCAR Methanol LLC in 2016, and became the company's property in August 2017. The maximum production capacity of the plant is 650,000-700,000 tons of methanol per year.
