The gas union between Uzbekistan, Russia and Kazakhstan is beneficial to all participants, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a briefing in Samarkand, Report informs via Sputnik-Uzbekistan.
"The three countries, including at the level of presidents, have actively advanced in the discussion of this large-scale project, which will definitely make it possible to strengthen energy security. There will be benefits for everyone, since there are gas suppliers, there are also those who are interested in this issue. When the parties agree on the terms of transit and on the terms of the price, and if everyone is satisfied with everything, everyone wins," he said.
The issue of the gas union itself was not discussed during the meeting of the CIS Ministerial Council, since it has no direct relation to the Commonwealth, Lavrov stressed.
