Italy is at risk of a gas shortage of 6.4 billion cubic meters, Report informs, citing Il Mattino newspaper.
According to the Italian paper, if the supply of Russian gas is completely stopped from October, taking into account the organization of alternative supplies and reserves, a gas shortage of about 8% (6.4 billion cubic meters) of the consumption level may occur in Italy.
According to experts, this will lead to a decrease in economic growth and the loss of about 600,000 jobs.
Due to high energy prices, several enterprises might have to close.
