Hasan Suver: Türkiye aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2053

Türkiye aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2053.

Report informs that Turkish Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Hasan Suver said this at a high-level meeting of the Baku Sustainability Coalition for Urban Climate Action and Sustainable Urbanization, held as part of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku.

He noted that Türkiye is implementing its green development policy in a planned manner, focusing on its strategic goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2053.

"The COP31 conference, to be held in Antalya in 2026, should be an inclusive and practice-oriented summit capable of delivering concrete results in climate finance, clean energy, carbon markets and the efficient use of water resources," the deputy minister stressed.

In addition, Suver called for strengthening coordination between COP processes and the World Urban Forum.
