Georgia sharply increases electricity imports from Azerbaijan

In January 2021, Georgia imported 151,779,000 kWh electricity from Azerbaijan, Report's Georgian Service informs, citing the Electricity Market Operator of Georgia (ESCO).
According to ESCO, in annual terms, it means a 96% increase.
In the reporting month, the volume of electricity transit from Azerbaijan to Turkey through Georgia amounted to 12,724,000 kWh. It is 51.8% or two times less than in the same period of 2020.
