Georgia increases fuel, lubricant imports from Azerbaijan by 28%

In January-May 2026, Georgia imported fuel and lubricants worth $181.8 million from Azerbaijan.
Report informs, citing Georgia's National Statistics Office, that this is 28% more than in the same period last year.
As a result, Azerbaijan ranked second among countries supplying fuel and lubricants to Georgia.
In May alone, Georgia purchased fuel and lubricants worth $28.3 million from Azerbaijan, up 53% from a year earlier.
In the first five months of this year, Georgia imported fuel and lubricants worth $1.13 billion from foreign countries, 45% more than a year earlier.
During the reporting period, Georgia imported products worth $562 million from Russia, $100 million from Türkiye, $61.5 million from Romania and $44 million from Bulgaria.
In 2025, Georgia imported fuel and lubricants worth $1.6 billion, of which Azerbaijan accounted for $145 million.
