Gas throughput via South Caucasus pipeline rises 2.1% in H1 2026

An average of 63.7 million cubic meters of natural gas per day was transported through the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) in the first half of 2026, up 2.1% from the same period a year earlier.

According to BP Azerbaijan, cited by Report, operating expenditure for the pipeline increased by 13.9% year-on-year to $41 million, while capital expenditure rose 1.6-fold to $19 million.

The Shah Deniz development contract was signed in 1996. The project's shareholders are BP plc, the technical operator, with a 29.99% stake, LUKOIL (19.99%), TPAO (19%), Southern Gas Corridor CJSC (16.02%), NICO (10%), and MVM (5%).
