Gas prices rise in Tbilisi

Consumer tariffs have been increased for subscribers of Tbilisi Energy, which supplies natural gas to the Georgian capital Tbilisi.
According to Report's local bureau, the Georgian National Regulatory Commission for Energy and Water Supply made this decision.
Thus, the current tariff rose 7,834 tetri and set at 53,972 tetri, including VAT. The new tariff will come into force on June 1 and will be valid until the end of 2022.
Tbilisi Energy said that the increase was due to the sale of gas at a lower price. The company sells natural gas that it buys for 34 tetri to consumers for 26 tetri.
