Export capacity of Azerbaijan–Türkiye interconnector may hit 3 GW

The Azerbaijan–Türkiye energy interconnector could reach an export capacity of 3 gigawatts, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Energy Orkhan Zeynalov stated at panel discussions on the second day of Baku Energy Week, Report informs.
Zeynalov said that in the initial stage, the project envisions the export of 1 gigawatt of electricity:
"The project will connect Azerbaijan's main territory with Türkiye through the Zangazur Corridor. Depending on commercial and technical capabilities, transmission capacity may later be increased to 3 gigawatts. Türkiye's western regions have significant potential, and this energy could subsequently be delivered to European markets."
