Egypt thanks Azerbaijan and SOCAR for assistance with gas supplies

Egypt has expressed its appreciation to Azerbaijan and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) for their assistance in ensuring gas supplies to the country, Egypt"s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi said at the 31st Baku Energy Forum, according to Report.

"Gas will continue to play the role of a primary energy source, and in this context I would like to express sincere gratitude to SOCAR and Azerbaijan for facilitating gas supplies to Egypt, especially during the past summer period.

The use of floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) infrastructure has enabled gas supply to various sectors of the Egyptian economy directly within the country. Therefore, cooperation in the gas sector is just as important as the gas infrastructure integration projects we are implementing jointly with Eastern Mediterranean countries for the benefit of all participants," the minister emphasized.
