ECO Clean Energy Center preparing regional renewable energy law compendium

The ECO Clean Energy Center, based in Baku, is preparing a compendium of national legislation on renewable energy and energy efficiency across the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) region, Executive Director Aysel Yagubova said during a panel discussion held as part of Baku Climate Action Week 2026 (BCAW 2026), Report informs.

"The aim of this initiative is to bring together the existing legal frameworks of the countries in the region and create a unified reference resource that policymakers, members of the investment community, legislators and academics can use in their professional activities," Yagubova said.

She added that the center also plans to develop a model law on renewable energy and energy efficiency for ECO member states.

"On a voluntary basis, countries will have the opportunity to adopt best practices from leading countries in this field and, where necessary, align their national legislation with this model law," she stressed.
