Diesel production down by 8% at STAR refinery

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) 's STAR refinery in Turkey produced 533,289 tons of diesel fuel in August 2021, Report informs, citing the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA).

According to EMRA, this figure is 44,015 tons or 7.6% less than in August last year.

In total, refineries in Turkey produced 1,515,792 tons of diesel fuel in August 2021, which is 73,132 tons or 4.6% less than in August 2020.

The STAR refinery produced 577,304 tons of diesel fuel in August 2020.

The opening of STAR took place on October 19, 2018. Its foundation was laid on October 5, 2011. In September 2019, the plant began operating at full capacity.

The plant has a refining capacity of 10 million tons of crude oil per year. The plant can process the Urals, Azeri Light, and Kirkuk oil. Its main products are diesel fuel (4.8 million tons), jet fuel, naphtha (1.6 million tons), liquefied petroleum gas, mixed xylene, and petroleum coke.
